The Braid Bar was founded in 2004 by Lybra and Tikisha, inspired by a vision to create a Black-owned braiding salon where beauty, culture, and passion could come together under one roof. What started as a bold idea quickly turned into something greater, a space where creativity thrives and every style tells a story.
As the brand grew, its reputation spread across the South, becoming one of the most recognized and trusted braiding salons in the Atlanta and Decatur areas. What began as a salon evolved into something more, not just a place for braids, but a brand known for consistency, quality, and a unique client experience.
Today, the Decatur location is home to a thriving community of over 50 employees and entrepreneurs. From braids and hair services to nails, makeup, lashes, boutique shopping, and even a café-style experience, The Braid Bar offers more than just beauty services, it delivers a complete lifestyle experience.
